Estate Maintenance/Gardener/Chauffeur- Oxfordshire

Client in Oxfordshire is looking for an experienced and highly capable individual to oversee Estate Maintenance, Gardening and some driving duties when needed.
You are based on a large estate, just outside of Henley-on-Thames and offered a modern, very spacious 2 bedroom flat with open plan living area and balcony on the grounds of the estate.

The right candidate will have previous experience working on large country estates and be highly organised with strong communication skills, as you will be overseeing contract gardeners and other external service providers on a daily basis.

  • Days of work: 5 days a week
  • Days off: Saturday & Sunday / to be flexible / on rota basis with House Keeper
  • Hours: Start at 7.30am
  • Package: Salary negotiable, 20 days annual leave, Workplace Pension.
  • Accommodation: Provided on site (modern 2 bedroom flat)

Responsibilities

  • Health & Safety Management (smoke & fire)
  • Security with the Gamekeeper for Estate (with CCTV). On call out list
  • Assistance with the Principals’ dogs
  • Cars to be fuelled / charged and cleaned regularly
  • Chauffeuring & manage classic cars (Must have full clean driving licence)
  • Petrol / diesel fuel pumps management (after attending a course)
  • Biomass Boiler management including woodchip (after full training). Manage Biomass contractor
  • Bore Hole management with contractor
  • Generator management with contractor
  • Management of multiple Klargesters with contractor
  • Manage Estate around the house (gates; lawns; hedges; gardening and manage contract gardeners)
  • House air handling system
  • Estate Gates, with contractor
  • Swimming pool management & chemicals
  • Assist at social functions and shoots
  • Front line checking of problems reported from Estate Properties
  • Live in the House if requested, when Owner is away
  • Undertake meter readings (water, electric, biomass) etc
  • Manage Contractor contracts; scheduling; & follow up. Manage value of contractor choice
  • Bi-weekly meetings when Owners present

Key qualifying criteria

  • Must be highly organised; able to plan ahead; computer literate (with emails; Excel etc)
  • Previous experience on a large estate
  • Clean driving license
  • Confident driving skills (knowledge of classic cars a bonus)
  • Looking for a long-term position
  • Great communication skills
  • Highly organised
