Family Cook- Seychelles

10 MONTH CONTRACT (3 weeks off at Easter- not required July & August)
Family Cook required for young family who are based in the Seychelles. You will be catering for the Principals' and their 9 year old son, with family and guests coming to stay occasionally (average of 8 people max). The Family are extremely down to earth, friendly and welcoming.
The family are expected to be in residence 33 weeks of the year, as the family travels extensively. You will have 3 weeks off at Easter and 2 months off in the summer (you are of course free to take on other work during these times).
A return flight to Mahe is paid for by the clients.

£25,000.00 plus package (accommodation, food & flights)

You are offered self-contained accommodation within the villa.

The family enjoy their food, love BBQ’s and will be looking for a Family Cook/Chef who can keep menu ideas fresh and exciting. There is a slight dairy intolerance to consider.

You will need to plan ahead and be highly organised so that your dry stores and freezer are always well-stocked. You will need to track down the best local suppliers and think on your feet if ideal ingredients are unavailable at short notice.

You will work 6 days per week with a day off for the 33 weeks of the year that you are ‘on duty’.

This is a great opportunity for a Family Cook/Chef to escape to the sunshine, with food, accommodation, return flights provided.

You will be responsible for all provisioning, so must be a confident driver to be considered for this role.



  • Provide all meals and snacks when Family are in residence

  • Using local suppliers as much as possible for seafood-fish/meat & Fruit/Veg
  • Be professional yet informal/approachable with family and guests
  • Keep the kitchen, pantry & dry stores immaculate

Key qualifying criteria

  • Previous experience cooking for families (chalet, yacht or private household work ideal)
  • This role is open to graduates of cooking schools- for example, Leiths, Cordon Bleu, Tante Marie, Ballymaloe etc. (you must have had at least one season of cooking experience to be considered)
  • Driving license
  • Valid passport
  • Food Photographs & Menus to show your work/cooking style
