Nanny/Housekeeper- West Sussex (Live-In)

Young family based in West Sussex are looking for an experienced Nanny/housekeeper with a creative spirit who enjoys being outdoors. In addition to the housekeeping and cooking duties, you will be required to care for their 4 year old little girl and occasional help with their new born baby boy.

Up to £500.00 net per week
Bepton, West Sussex

The Principals’ looking for a nanny/housekeeper with greater emphasis being on the  housekeeping and cooking aspects.

Your role will involve providing support and care for the 4 year old girl, arranging outdoor activities, play dates etc. as well as occasionally supporting the mother with the new-born.

You will be required Monday to Friday, approximately 30 hours a week, but flexibility is key as the hours below may vary from day to day.

  • Monday & Thursday – around 8 hours during the day
  • Tuesdays – 7am to 12pm
  • Wednesday – 7am to 11 am & 5pm to 6pm
  • Friday – 7am to 8:30am & 11am to 12:30pm

You will be provided with a private en-suite bedroom and TV within the Principals’ house. Please note that your accommodation will be based on the ground floor of the property whereas the rest of the bedrooms are located on the first floor, so your accommodation has a self-contained feel.

The Principals’ are happy to share use of their cars if you do not have your own vehicle.

The family are currently looking for a new property in the Petersfield area (1 hour on the train into London Waterloo. It is a very beautiful area with lots of countryside/coastal walks being within close proximity of the sea.


  • Hands-on housekeeping, washing and ironing to a high standard
  • School runs (nursery is a 20 minutes drive away in Petersfield)
  • Cooking fresh meals for the family
  • All nursery duties
  • Planning activities, creative play, outdoor play, play dates and educational activities
  • Occasional babysitting during the week (prior notice given)
  • Ensuring the safety/wellbeing of your charges at all times
  • Help strengthen the children’s language skills
  • Casual errands e.g. picking up groceries, accepting parcels etc.

Key qualifying criteria

  • Experience in a similar role
  • Family cooking abilities are a must
  • Enjoy being outdoors
  • Non-smoker essential
  • Clean CRB
  • Hands-on help with new born
  • Driving licence –  essential
  • Paediatric First Aid
  • Be fit, energetic and a healthy individual
  • Fluent English (spoken & written)
  • Flexible
  • Responsible, mature and reliable
  • Meticulous housekeeping skills – sharp eye for detail is paramount
