Private Chef- Kensington

Clients in Kensington are looking for a full time Chef to work on a rota system over a 5 day week. You must be flexible and happy to travel as you will take it in turns with the existing Chef to fly out to the clients property in the South of France throughout July & August (usually a fortnight at a time).

You will be responsible for catering for all meals and snacks when on duty, to include breakfast. The Butler will see to arranging the breakfast for the Principal as he is up particularly early, but Madam and the children will be at the table by 8am.

The clients enjoy Mediterranean, Italian and Asian Cuisine. The menu is usually fairly set with regular favourite dishes, but you will have the opportunity to be more creative when catering for business lunches and dinner parties.

You will travel for several weeks at a time during July & August to the Principals’ property in the South of France. You are provided with accommodation during your time in France which is of a very high standard and recently refurbished.

It is essential that the Chef works in an immaculate manner at all times and cleans up as they work.

The clients have expressed a particular interest in Chefs with a super yacht background and/or a substantial amount of private household or luxury chalet experience.

As well as catering for the Principals, their children and any guests, you will also be responsible for providing meals for a live-in Butler & Housekeeper.

As you will be working on a shift pattern with an additional Chef, you will generally not be required to work particularly long hours; making this an ideal & sustainable role for a Chef looking to maintain their position within the household for the foreseeable future/long term.


  • Providing all meals and snacks during your shift (which could be an early or a late shift. Early shifts will start at 8am, late shifts will finish by 10pm unless the Principals’ are entertaining.)
  • Catering for household staff
  • Shopping, ordering and handling accounts
  • Travelling to the South of France during July & August
  • All meals must be prepared and ready regardless of whether the Principals’ have plans to eat out (just in case they decide last minute to eat at home)
  • Every meal time must include both meat and fish options
  • You will need to work closely with the additional Chef, to ensure you are working in the same way as you will very rarely be on a shift together

Key qualifying criteria

  • This role requires a top Chef with plenty of experience with private clients and the etiquette expected within an UHNW household
  • Attitude towards both your Principals’ and household staff must be diplomatic, considered and respectful
  • Ideal candidates will have some yacht experience but this is not essential
  • Team player to ensure consistency with your food and a smooth handover between shifts
  • You must be flexible to travel for several weeks at a time
